CCR provides portals to support research in chemistry and bioinformatics, with additional portals under development. Portals are desirable because they provide convenient, easy-to-use web-based interfaces that hide many of the details of the computing environment, thereby allowing scientists to focus on their research as opposed to the center's operating environment.

These portals are available to the UB scientific community. All portals require a login. Access to the portals must be enabled, even for users that have a CCR account. Faculty interested in using one of the web portals below should contact the CCR staff.

Current web portals:

• iNquiry (Bioinformatics)
  • Web access through the iNquiry Web Portal to BLAST, HMMER and MrBayes, as well as many other packages.
• SeqWeb (Bioinformatics)
  • Web access to the Accelrys GCG Package.
• WebMO (Chemistry)
  • Web access to GAMESS, GAUSSIAN, NWChem, Q-Chem, MOPAC, and TINKER.
